The boards are also not as constrained by space and allow a whole new approach to electronic devices. Flexible connections are manufactured single and double sided, with the option of stiffener support.

Rigid-flex boards can have up to 6 layers in the rigid section and an inner or outer flexible core of 1V/2V. Most of the technologies used in rigid-flex boards can be used in the same way as in multi-layer boards.
